Mother's Day 2011 Part 2 - EDSA Shangri-La & Komoro Soba

Previously...
Yeah, puny cakes and pastries, we still left some.
Zahn didn't appreciate the caramelized onions tarts.
Yeah, what was that about???

EDSA Shangri La Hotel Garden

EDSA Shangri-La has a nice garden, except the rain ruined the koi pond,
and brought down mud all over the place.
Would have wanted to have a photo-op on this bench,
like that scene in Notting Hill, but it was wet.
Oh well. Nothing a hug couldn't fix.

I couldn't help but smile, when Zahnina said, 'my turn.'

Zoe, too big for photo-op.
According to her, it's her turn to take pictures.
Why not, she's excellent at it!

HHWW. Hloding hands while walking. By Zoe.

Let's go to Chi The Spa. Let's be quiet and... careful.
[Chi in Shangri-La Mactan looks light years exceptionally better though.]

My very own 'Mini-me.'

Look at Zoe... now all grown up. 5' 4 1/2'' at only 14 years old.

We couldn't resist... and yep, there's Zeth photo-bombing the skit.

Zahn : I don't know [reluctant, unsure]. Are you sure, no one else will see?
Zahnina : Sure. Come on. Do your 'Hulk Impression.' I'll watch for you.

Mother knows best.
Mother sees everything!
And most of all, only Mothers photograph everything!

TADA!

But even Mothers can't stop the rain...
But even the rain won't stop Mothers from photo-ops.
Foggy...

NEXT, short walk around the mall, then DINNER. 7PM

I was thinking of Senju, the Japanese restaurant on the 2nd floor.
But then, the kids only wanted tonkatsu.
Zahn and I wanted something light like soba,
I thought the next best authentic thing was our favorite 'Komoro Soba.'
It's still the best-priced authentic Japanese ramen house for a fraction of the price.

Katsudon, P95.00 x 2

Ebi Soba Hot with kaki age, P119.o0 x 2

Extra kakiage, P29.00 x 2

California maki 4pcs, P52.00

Vegetable gyoza, 6 pieces, P72.00

FINALE, 830 PM

At 830PM, we debated about a) going home to play 'Pinoy Henyo,' and b) watch a movie.
I wanted to watch Fast Five, with Vin Diesel, who I had been calling 'The Nanny.'
So the kids had no idea what I was talking about.
I actually meant his nanny role in 'The Pacifier.'
Then, they finally went, 'Aaah.'
But due to the violence rating, we decided 'Thor' was the fitting end to our fabulous day.

And it was a fabulous day, indeed.
It was a great movie, regardless of that harsh critique from the New York Post.
Also, did I already say it's the best Mother's Day I've ever had, so far. It is.
I'll always remember 2011...

As we went went home, I thought that the end of the movie was also the end of my special day,
but when we arrived home, I realized I still had to read the special cards...
I cannot describe the feeling after I've read all three.
I honestly thought the day couldn't get any better, but I was wrong.
Truly, nothing compares to 'words of love.' Not a high-priced hotel room, lavish bounty...
My happiness meter that day was over the moon.
Like Zahnina would often say, it was 'as high as the sky.'
I was high, as high as the sky.
Thank you very much Zoe, Zahnina and Zahn.
I love you very much!
Thank you.
